Tour of Spain 2022 – Tadej Pogacar (UAE Emirates) will not compete in the Vuelta

Tadej Pogacar will not take the start of the Vuelta. Second in the last Tour de France, the double winner of the Grande Boucle (2020 and 2021), who had initially planned to overtake Tour and Vuelta (August 19 – September 11), finally decided to ignore it. However, he will run the Clasica San Sebastian on Saturday, the main one-day race organized in Spain.

The Slovenian will take a break after the Clasica to resume at the end of August at the Bretagne Classic before moving on to Quebec races then the world championship, at the end of September in Australia. Tadej Pogacar has planned to run the Tour of Lombardy in October, one of the “monuments” of the cycling season that he had already won last year.
