A moment of history. Lorena Wiebes (DSM) became the first-ever yellow jersey holder after his victory in the sprint on the Champs-Elysées, Sunday July 24. The Dutchwoman won the first stage of the Tour de France women 2022 by beating her compatriot Marianne Vos (Jumbo-Visma), after 81.6 kilometers of intense effort and after twelve laps in the French capital.
Lotte Kopecky (Team SD Worx) finished third. Victoire Berteau (Cofidis), the best ranked Frenchwoman, is in twentieth position. Note that her teammate Alana Castrique, caught in a fall, was forced to retire.
