Nearly 20 million viewers watching the women’s Tour de France

After thirty-three years of absence, the women’s Tour de France made a successful comeback this year. On France Télévisions, the women’s Grande Boucle gathered 19.8 million viewers (threshold of 60 seconds of viewing) according to Médiamétrie.

The seven stages broadcast on France 3 (the first was on France 2) attracted an average of 2.1 million viewers. Sunday, the arrival at the Super Planche des Belles Filles brought together an average of 3.3 million viewers (30.9% of PdA), with a peak of 5.1 million at the time of the final success of the Yellow Jersey Annemiek van Vleuten (at 5.45 p.m.).

From July 1 to 24, the men’s Tour de France gathered 41.5 million viewers on France Télévisions. The stages had brought together an average of 4 million people on France 2 and 2.5 million on France 3.
