Mahindra collaborates with Qualcomm to equip the new Scorpio-N with the latest technology

Mahindra & Mahindra on Monday announced a collaboration with chipmaker Qualcomm to bring the latest technological advancements for a comfortable, safe and smart driving experience in its all-new Scorpio-N vehicle.

The chipmaker will work with automotive electronics company Visteon Corporation to deliver world-class, transformative in-car experiences to the all-new Scorpio-N, using its third-generation Snapdragon cockpit platforms.

“We are leveraging more than two decades of automotive expertise to transform the Scorpio-N into a digitally advanced and feature-rich SUV,” said Uday Dodla, Senior Director of Business Development, Qualcomm India.

Snapdragon 3rd Generation Cockpit Platforms are designed to support the higher levels of computing and intelligence needed for the advanced capabilities of next-generation vehicles, contributing to contextual safety for drivers and passengers.

These include facilitating driver monitoring and object detection, as well as helping to ensure the security of personal and vehicle data.

Additionally, the 3rd Generation Snapdragon Cockpit platforms feature an advanced suite of wireless technologies supporting multi-mode cellular connectivity, Wi-Fi 6, as well as enhanced Bluetooth technologies, the company said.

The Scorpio-N delivers a cutting-edge driving and ownership experience through Mahindra’s connected artificial intelligence (AI) technology, which uses Visteon’s SmartCore cockpit domain controller technology based on Snapdragon cockpit platforms.

The Scorpio-N is equipped with a 17.78 cm color driver information display and an 20.32 cm infotainment system with navigation.

Qualcomm offers advanced automotive technologies through the “Snapdragon Digital Chassis”, which is a suite of cloud-connected platforms for telematics, digital cockpit solutions, advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS)/driving autonomous, “vehicle-to-everything” (C-V2X) and “car-to-cloud” cellular solutions.
