Android TV users know that there are many images in the library that can be used as wallpapers on TVs, not to mention apps and other types of services that allow you to upload high-resolution photos of landscapes; however, these devices are typically found in homes, and users may wish to use family photos as screensavers.
This is possible thanks to Google Photos, a service that usually comes pre-installed on Android TVs, so the process of placing family photos on TVs is efficient and only requires a mobile phone with the Google Home app.
Apart from those who want to see their parents, siblings or grandparents on the device screensaver, there are also users who like to take pictures of their pets or places they visit, that is why it is useful to know how to customize the images displayed on the TV when it is “in hibernation mode”.
Here are the instructions
- Launch the Google Home app on your mobile device.
- Select the TV to configure from the list of connected devices once in the app.
- choose the settings icon in the upper right corner of the screen.
What if the TV is not yet set up in the Google Home app?
To do this, choose the “Plus” (+) icon, then click “Set up device”, and then follow the on-screen instructions.
After entering device settings, you can now choose “ Ambient Mode“, where the option to select the Google Photographs album to display photos on the TV screen is displayed.
In addition to selecting photos from “Google Photos” for “Atmosphere Mode”, two other options are available:
Art Gallery : Displays photos of famous paintings chosen for the user by Google.
Experimental : It serves as an image bank, so it is constantly updated with new suggestions and gives users access to new functions.
Finally, it’s worth pointing out that it’s not possible to choose which Google Photos to display on your TV; instead, the TV will automatically display all cloud-based information.
To change the amount of time required for the device to enter “Ambient Mode”, press the settings button on the remote, then select display choices.
How to Connect Gamepads to a TV

- To access Settings, click the gear symbol in the upper right corner of the screen.
- Navigate to “Remotes and Accessories”.
- Select the option labeled “Add Accessories”.
- At this point, the TV will start detecting the device in order to connect it to the network.
