Haaland makes a successful Manchester City debut against Bayern, Arsenal thrashes Chelsea

It only took 12 minutes for Erling Haaland to score his first goal in his new colours. The Norwegian scored the only goal in the friendly match between Manchester City and Bayern Munich on Saturday at Lambeau Field in Green Bay. Served five meters from goal by Jack Grealish, the Skyblues’ flagship summer rookie didn’t flinch when pushing the ball into the back of the net.

The Citizens thus gleaned a second success in their American tour, after their victory against Club America on Thursday (2-1). They will make their official comeback next Saturday against Liverpool in the traditional Community Shield. The Bavarians will play the German Super Cup against RB Leipzig.

Arsenal on display

At the same time, Arsenal continued their flawless performance by securing a fourth victory in as many summer preparation matches. The Gunners defeated rival Chelsea in Orlando without too much difficulty (4-0). Arrived this summer, Gabriel Jesus scored his fourth goal of the pre-season. Martin Odegaard, Bukayo Saka and Sambi Lokonga then joined the party.

Mikel Arteta’s men will play a last friendly on Saturday against Sevilla FC, while Chelsea will face Udinese on Friday.
