IRGC Navy Commander Alireza Tangsiri made the remarks on the sidelines of a ceremony in the southern Iranian port city of Bandar Abbas, and said the IRGC was now seeking to use home-produced shells.

He noted that using local technologies and products and employing Iranian experts are among the achievements the IRGC Navy is proud of.

The IRGC Navy is a comprehensive strategic naval force, equipped with all the equipment other armed forces have access to, from tanks to planes to drones, he said, adding that its presence in the region allows to deter enemy forces.

He also blamed US ships for failing to follow maritime navigation rules and regulations, saying their presence in the region usually leads to more insecurity.
