Astana Hub and Google For Startups Announce Second Cohort of Silkway Accelerator Program

NUR-SULTAN – The Astana Hub International IT Startup Technopark is accepting applications for the second cohort of the Silkway Accelerator program for tech companies until August 21, the Astana hub’s press service reported.

The second cohort of training in partnership with Google for Startups (GfS), a program with hands-on lessons from top Google experts, will begin on September 2. and will last three months.

Held in Nur-Sultan, the program targets companies based in Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan and Mongolia. The Astana Hub also provides participants with accommodation and co-working space.

Those who wish to participate can also apply for funding of up to 25 million tenge (US$52,364) under the Seed Money funding program for IT startups.

“The first cohort is already showing good results and we are launching the second one, continuing our partnership with the global society and helping startups to effectively develop their projects,” said Astana Hub Development and Export General Manager Abai. Absamet.

Start-up UvU, a child-focused safety and transportation company and one of the first cohort participants, achieved presales of more than $1.5 million during the classes.

“In the first month of our training, we reviewed the business model, made offers to our clients, learned how to prioritize and achieved such a result,” said Madiyar Toleugali, CEO of UvU.

With 15 participants, the first cohort of the A program started on July 8 and will continue until the end of September.
