This Wednesday morning, an Apple Maps Car was seen in the streets of Dijon. As the Apple brand’s website reminds us, “Apple is carrying out field studies all over the world, using vehicles, in order to collect data that will be used to improve the Maps application as well as the functionality 360º view”.
And the company to be, like its competitor Google, with its Street View and Maps functions, reassuring on privacy issues. “No faces or license plates will be identifiable in the images posted in the 360º view. If you have any questions or comments about this process, your privacy rights, or if you would like to request that a face, license plate, or your own home not be identified, you can write to [email protected]
The official tour is scheduled for August
This visit to Dijon may seem surprising, since according to Apple’s official calendar, its visits to Bourgogne-Franche-Comté (BFC) are not scheduled before August: from August 8 to 11 in Côte-d’Or and from August 9 to 11 in the Doubs. This passage in the capital of the Dukes could be linked to the fact that some of the Apple Maps Cars are passing through places near the BFC at the moment: from July 15 to August 5 in Paris, from July 31 to August 5 in Seine-et- Marne, or from July 25 to August 5 in the Rhône.
